Surveyor management policy or SMP for empanelment of surveyors in the panel of public sector insurers like New India Assurance, National insurance, Oriental insurance & United India insurance has been made effective from 01/01/2018. The policy has already been approved by the boards of respective insurers like OIC, NIC,NIA & UIIC.
All the new surveyors holding valid IRDA license are required to apply for the empanelment with these insurers. The applications for the empanelment are invited every year through the notification on the website of oriental insurance, New India Assurance, National Insurance & United India insurance company. And thereafter the candidates are called for the interview by the surveyor empanelment committee of respective insurers. The interview committee test the candidates with questions regarding the candidate’s area of expertise & insurance related knowledge.

Surveyor’s Empanelment committee: Surveyor’s empanelment committee is formed by through centralized process fr all the public sector insurers. Every insures conducts the surveyor empanelment interview in their allotted zone & the eligible candidates are supposed to appear for interview in their respective zone.
SMP interview questions: Interview questions are focused on the technical as well as the insurance knowledge of the candidate. But main focus of the interviewers is to test the knowledge in the area of expertise of the candidate.
