Motor Insurance Claims Process

Steps To Follow

1.Intimation: Intimate MHDI immediately along with Policy, Driver & place of accident details. Intimate MHDI the details of the workshop where the vehicle will be shifted for repairs. Do not leave the vehicle unattended at the spot of accident.Lodge FIR with local police station immediately in case of Theft.

2.Repairs: Preferably shift the vehicle to MHDI Preferred Workshop for repairs.Do not proceed with accident repairs of the vehicle without advice from surveyor post inspection.It is advisable to be present during surveyor inspection at workshop.Surveyor shall be communicating on loss assessment details on completion of survey process.New Parts should be utilised where replacement has been allowed unless otherwise stated.

3.Post Repairs: MHDI to be intimated for carrying out post repairs re-inspection.Where repairs carried out at MHDI Preferred workshops, pay the difference amount only as per Surveyor assessment & Policy conditions, to the workshop.For other workshops the bills to be settled directly & submitted to MHDI in original.If the vehicle has not been repaired as advised by surveyor or not to your satisfaction, please bring this to the notice of MHDI.

4.Documentation: All documents as per checklist & depending upon the nature of accident to be submitted to the surveyor or to nearest MHDI office.Where photocopies are submitted, please produce originals for verification.If additional documents are required, you will be informed by the surveyor or MHDI.Do not enter into any agreement with any person not authorised by MHDI in regard to the claim incident.Ensure all declarations given to surveyor or MHDI in relation to the claim are correct & genuine.5SettlementExecute the claim settlement discharge voucher in lieu of acceptance of the settlement proposed by MHDI.MHDI shall settle the claim within 7 days of receiving complete documentation & receipt of answers to queries raised.Documents Required
